Mthatha Bucks have signed Ngcobo-born former Ruwan Dikela Xundu marksman Ruwan Xundu ahead of their trip to Witbank this weekend.

The 24-year-old Xundu, who will be available for selection on Saturday, was signed after impressing the technical team during the three weeks assessment period.

Match details: Witbank Spurs v Mthatha Bucks, Puma Rugby Stadium, Saturday 10 September, 3pm

Currently sitting atop of the NFD standings after one round – this following the 3-1 victory over Stellenbosch United two weeks back, Amathol'amnyama take on a Spurs side who also began the 2016/ 17 season with a win, 2-1 away to Milano United.

Andile Njokweni netted a brace with Mazwi Mncube netting the other goal in the win against Stellebosch, while Patrick Mubayiwa and Joshua Sauls scored for Spurs in Cape Town.

This is a game Bucks will badly want to win after they twice lost to Spurs last season – 1-2 at home and 2-3 away.

Team News:

We are sweating on the fitness of attacking midfielder Sihle Maso, who is nursing a slight groin strain.
Striker Petrus Ngebo will serve his last game of the two match ban and will be available for selection in the next game.
We welcome back the tough tackling defender Samkelo 'Gjento' Ndletyana from suspension.
Andile Njokweni, the two goal hero against Stellenbosch United, will miss Saturday’s clash away to Witbank Spurs after injuring an ankle during training.
