Mthatha Bucks 0-0 Santos
12 March 2016

Mthatha Bucks made it five matches unbeaten in the NFD after playing to a 0-0 draw with Santos at the Mthatha Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The point earned proved enough for Mthatha Bucks to end the weekend out of the relegation zone, after African Warriors lost to Milano United at Athlone on Sunday. Bucks are in 14th spot, above Warriors on goal difference.

Like in last week’s Nedbank Cup 1-0 defeat away to Santos, Amathol’amnyama found Peoples’ Team keeper Tashrique Goldman to be in unbeatable form - Bucks had two first half chances from corners, one resulting from a great save by Goldman, the Santos keeper again denying Moses Spandeel’s free-kick.

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker David Radebe came on 10 minutes into the second half, but was unable to make a difference in front of goal as Bucks were forced to play out for the draw and the single point.

Amathol’amnyama are next in action when they face Vasco da Gama (one point above them on the table) at Parow Park next Saturday.
