Dyaloyi ready to 'die' for Bucks
9 March 2016
Head coach Velile Dyaloyi is a man on a mission, determined to preserve Mthatha Bucks' NFD status, starting with Saturday's league match against Santos.
The game takes place at the Mthatha Stadium on Saturday, 15H30 kick off. It will be the second time in 10 days that the two clubs meet, Santos having beaten Amathol'amnyama 1-0 in a Nedbank Cup last 32 game at Athlone.
Bucks though already have one win over the Peoples' Team this season, a 2-1 league victory in Cape Town earlier in the campaign.
Last Wednesday’s encounter saw Bucks giving a good showing, just not able to get the ball into the net as Santos keeper Tashrique Goldman made some outstanding stops.
Dyaloyi is hoping to build on that performance and turn it into three points on Saturday.
"We started with a good note, forced the opponent to defend, but unlucky for us. Even the goal they scored, I don't believe the kicker thought it would go in.
"The boys played well, they dominated the game, they put the ball into the last third as much as they could. I can't blame them, we have to go back and prepare, I'm backing that we can hit Santos with a big score at home."
He continued: "We have two crucial games ahead which we want, at all costs, to die on the field. If we can get the six points off Santos and Vasco da Gama, we put us on a good standing in the league. My aim is to save the team from relegation. I need to save Mthatha Bucks. That is my priority and I need to die for it."
In team news, Brown Khumalo and Bafana Dlamini return from suspension and injury respectively.
