Santos stand between Bucks and Nedbank Cup last 16
1 March 2016

Mthatha Bucks face a challenging game in Cape Town if they are to book their place in the last 16 of the lucrative Nedbank Cup.

The match takes place at the Athlone Stadium on Wednesday night, kick off set for 19H30, and Bucks are hoping for a great turn-out from their Mother City-based supporters as we try to overcome the Peoples’ Team.

Bucks have already beaten one Cape side in the competition – defeating Cape Town All Stars in the qualifying round, while Santos defeated Witbank Spurs.

This will be the second time the two sides meet this season, Amathol’amnyama having edged out Santos 2-1 at Athlone, while the two clubs are also set to meet in a league encounter up in Mthatha next weekend.

In terms of NFD standings, Santos are currently 10th, with 23 points, Bucks not too far behind on 17 points, in 15th spot.

Recent form has seen Bucks drawing three games, winning one and losing one, while Santos have drawn two, lost two, and won one.

Team news:

Both clubs have suspensions:

MTHATHA BUCKS: BROWN KHUMALO

SANTOS: KPAH SHERMAN, MORGAN VAN ROOYEN
