Witbank Spurs 3-2 Mthatha Bucks
27 January 2016
A late fightback proved to be in vein for Mthatha Bucks as they suffered a 3-2 loss away to Witbank Spurs on Wednesday afternoon.
Velile Dyaloyi’s side went ahead after 19 minutes, scoring with a penalty as Thabiso Mokoena beat Zama Dlamini from the spot after the keeper had fouled Sibusiso Hlubi in the box.
Tshepiso Lietsisa was to level the game up two minutes after the restart when he scored directly from a free kick, following a foul by Mashale Rantanbane.
It didn’t take long for the home side to go in front for the first time in the match, Julius Linkontsane handing Siyavutha the lead via a penalty conversion around 10 minutes into the second stanza.
Around 20 minutes from time, Joshua Sauls gave them the breather of a two goal cushion after getting onto the score-sheet for Spurs.
But Amathol’amnyama showed spirit to comeback with a headed goal by Samkelo Ndletyana’ although his effort proved to be too little too late for the men from the Eastern Cape.
