Dyaloyi: we’re in the bus!
13 January 2016
Mthatha Bucks head coach Velile Dyaloyi feels that his side are making significant steps towards a more comfortable position on the NFD table.
Dyaloyi’s arrival has yielded a big turn-around in the club’s fortunes. Since joining Amathol’amnyama in December, he has a perfect record of four wins: two in the league, one in a Nedbank Cup qualifier, and one in the Nelson Mandela Commemoration Cup against PSL side Chippa United. In this period, only one goal has been conceded.
“We have wanted results, and we have got the results. Going into the game [against Santos, a 2-1 win earlier this week], our preparation worked well, where we went up to Pietermaritzburg on a camp. The sacrifice that the boys gave to us I think is paying out for us now,” Dyaloyi told the club website.
The Bucks mentor says he believes that his charges are enjoying playing under his tutelage and that this had led to the upturn in fortunes for the Eastern Cape’s only NFD club.
“For me, these players know my style, and I think they like it. I think this has made us positive, and has seen us attacking. There is no need for us to defend, because we are behind on points from the other teams.
“Therefore we need to get goals as quickly as we can, and also close the shop as quick as possible so we can get maximum points and get out of the relegation zone,” he explained.
Comparing the NFD to a bus, Dyaloyi is optimistic that his men are making significant strides towards a more comfortable position on the table.
“This is a bus. Therefore we are now inside the bus. We are no longer taking the steps of the bus. It’s up to us to find a seat in the bus. Our mission is not yet accomplished, we need to take some points to get clearly out of the relegation zone, and then we look forward.”
Amathol’amnyama’s next action comes this Sunday, when they host African Warriors at the Mthatha Stadium, 3.30pm kick off.
